The book begins with the modern day story of Mary and Joseph, who are high school students living their lives in honor of God. However, they are ridiculed for their church-going reputations, while their peers are partying and promoting promiscuous behavior. After two years at a community college, Mary and Joseph embark on a mission trip around the world, rebuilding houses torn down by destruction of war. While there, Mary finds herself sick, and is scared that she might have a disease that is plaguing the area. She has numerous doctors tell her the same thing: she is pregnant.
Confused but willing, Mary and Joseph nourish the baby inside of Mary for the next nine months. They post their news on their social networking website accounts, only to be harshly criticized by all. Their families stop talking to them, and they have no support other than themselves and God. One night, bombs and explosives plague the area where Mary and Joseph are staying. That same night, Mary goes into labor. Because of the hundreds of injured people, the hospitals are packed, inside and out. Mary and Joseph desperately seek medical attention, but find none, and are forced to bring their baby into the world at the closest place to them—a neighbor farmer’s barn. After hours of labor, the child is born, and Mary and Joseph vow to raise him as God has planned.
The book goes on to tell the life of Jesus in a very unique and compelling way that will fascinate and inform readers while at the same time bring readers to a better understanding of the life of Jesus and the sacrifice that he made for all.
